Switzerland's mixed doubles team has created a new Olympic curling record as the latest medal discipline moved into its second day of action at PyeongChang 2018.

Current world champions Switzerland stand alone at the top of the table after the two sessions of round-robin play on the first day of mixed doubles curling at the Gangneung Curling Centre. Switzerland beat Finland by 7-6 in Thursday evening's play.

Historic win for hosts on historic day for curling

Team Moiseeva were invited by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to compete under the Olympic flag as part of the Olympic Athlete from Russia (OAR) contingent.

New members to be inducted into World Curling Hall of Fame

Elmer Freytag, a founding member of the International Curling Federation - now the World Curling Federation - will be inducted to the World Curling Hall of Fame (formerly the World Curling Freytag Award) along with two other highly deserving candidates - Korea's Young C. Kim, who co-founded the Korean Curling Federation and Canada's 2010 Olympic gold medallist Kevin Martin.
