USA secure places at Worlds after Americas Challenge

USA's women's and men's teams will compete at the upcoming CPT World Women’s and Ford World Men’s Curling Championships 2017 after Nina Roth and John Shuster's teams defeated Brazil in three straight games each to win the Americas Challenge in Duluth, Minnesota.

Prohibited List

Updated annually, the Prohibited List identifies the substances and methods prohibited to athletes in-and out-of-competition.

Governance Commission

The WCF Governance Commission is currently chaired by Board Member Bent Ramsfjell the role of the Commission is to review and monitor the governance of the World Curling Federation. In addition to tasks generated from within the Commission it may also receive requests from the Board and from Member Associations to look at certain areas of the governance of the sport.

Checking Medication and Substances

The use of some medications is prohibited in curling. If you're an athlete and you get sick or injured or you need regular treatment for an ongoing condition, you need to check the Prohibited List of Substances and Methods whether your medication is permitted or not.

Hall of Fame Induction Commission

The Hall of Fame Induction Commission considered nominations to the World Curling Hall of Fame. The terms of reference for this Commission are currently under review.

Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs)

Athletes may have illnesses or conditions that require them to take particular medications.

PyeongChang 2018 curling pictogram revealed

The official sport pictograms for the 2018 Olympic Winter Games, comprised of 24 graphic images, were unveiled today by the PyeongChang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Olympic Winter Games (POCOG).

WCF Testing Pools

Zonal Commissions

There are three Zonal Commissions for the World Curling Federation one for each of the WCF’s geographical zones (Americas, Europe and Pacific-Asia) Each Zonal Commission is chaired by the Zonal Vice President who is elected by the Member Associations of the WCF to serve on the Board. Each Member Association of the WCF is allocated to one Zone based on their geography.

WCF and WADA team up to promote anti-doping campaign - #CurlClean

The World Curling Federation (WCF) and World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) are partnering together to promote clean sport at the VoIP Defender World Junior Curling Championships 2017 in Gangneung, Korea (16-26 February) next month. This is the first time the two organisations have teamed up to deliver WADA’s Legacy Outreach programme.

Brazil and USA ready for Americas Challenge

Brazil and USA will compete, in Duluth, Minnesota, this weekend (27-29 January) at the Americas Challenge, in pursuit of places at the 2017 World Curling Championships. Each year 12 teams compete in both the men’s and women’s World Curling Championships (WCCs) - two from the Americas zone, eight from Europe (when the WCCs are outside of Europe) and two from the Pacific-Asia zone.

How do I know if I need to provide whereabouts? If you are included in any of the WCF Testing Pools you will need to provide whereabouts in ADAMS (Anti-Doping & Administration Management System).

Testing Figures

The aim of testing athletes is to detect and deter doping among athletes to protect the clean athletes. Any athlete under the testing jurisdiction of WCF may be tested at any time, with no advance notice, in- or out-of-competition.

International curling will return to Almaty, in Kazakhstan, for just the second time when FISU’s (Fédération Internationale du Sport Universitaire) 28th Winter Universiade Games (WUG) begin on Saturday (28 January).
