WADA Publishes 2016 Prohibited List

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) published the 2016 Prohibited List. The List will come into effect on 1 January 2016. The Prohibited List details substances and methods banned in sports in-and out-of-competition. The 2016 Prohibited List, the 2016 Summary of Modifications, and the 2016 Monitoring Programme are available for download on the WCF website

Slovenia to host first international curling event

The Slovenian Curling Association will host the European Curling Championships C-Division (ECC-C), its first international curling event, in April. The event will be held in the Ice Arena Zalog in Ljubljana between 25 April and 1 May 2016.

World Junior-B Curling Championships ready to begin

The first World Junior-B Curling Championships (WJBCC), since 2004, are being held next week (4-10 January 2016) at the Kisakallio Sport Institute in Lohja, Finland.

WCF President

Kate Caithness OBE from Scotland was elected President of the World Curling Federation in April 2010. She is the first female president of the WCF and the first female president of an Olympic Winter Sports Federation. Caithness has been involved with the sport of curling since the 1980s.

If you want to try curling, contact your local Member Association who will be able to tell you where you can try the sport in your country.

World Rankings

The World Curling Federation World Rankings track and list the success of all Member Associations at the Pacific-Asia, European, World Wheelchair, Women’s, Men’s and Mixed Doubles Curling Championships and the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

World Curling Hall of Fame

Induction into the World Curling Hall of Fame is the highest ‘non-playing’ honour that the World Curling Federation can bestow on someone and recognises outstanding contribution to the sport of curling whether through on ice exploits or off ice endeavours. 2012 was the first year the WCF accepted nominations for this honour.
