Berne, Switzerland to host first World Mixed Curling Championship in 2015

The World Curling Federation (WCF) announced today that the first World Mixed Curling Championship will be hosted by Switzerland’s capital city, Berne, between 12 and 19 September 2015.

Late Registration available for the Winter World Master Games 2015

Late registration is available for curling teams wishing to take part in the Winter World Master Games 2015 which will be held in Quebec City, Canada between 31 January to 8 February. Russia men and England women qualify for the World Juniors

Russia men and England women have qualified for the World Junior Curling Championships 2015 after winning the European Junior Curling Challenge 2015. Russia men continued their great form during the last day of competition as they won both their semi-final against Turkey 10-3 and then their final against Spain 4-3.

Curling Timing Training

These videos are designed to help with the instruction of volunteers who wish to become timekeepers. It is assumed the volunteers have a basic knowledge of the game. If they do not, then they should first receive some instruction on how the game is played, and the terms used. It is recommended that the instructor first explains the basic idea of “Thinking Time”.

The World Curling Federation (WCF) has announced that Lohja in Finland will host two world curling championship qualification events next season – the World Wheelchair Curling Qualification event 2015 and the World Junior-B Curling Championships 2016.

WCF publishes latest World Rankings

Following the conclusion of the Le Gruyère European Curling Championships 2014, the World Curling Federation has released its latest world rankings. Canada continues to dominate the world of curling as they remain at the top of the men’s, women’s and wheelchair curling rankings. Switzerland meanwhile lead the Mixed Doubles rankings.
