Social Media Guidelines

The WCF encourage everyone involved in the sport of curling to raise awareness of the sport through social media. There are many different social media platforms available to communicate through and these guidelines, available to download below, provides useful hints and tips about communicating effectively via these channels.

Traditional Curling

Traditional curling, like you see at World Championships, is made up of single sex teams of either five men or five women. However, for traditional team curling you do not always need the fifth team member. A team consists of four athletes: the fourth, third, second and lead. They are supported by an alternate (substitute). One of the athletes will be the skip.

Global Sports Development announces $73,000 support for WCF Programmes Perth, Scotland

The World Curling Federation (WCF) has received $73,000 USD in funding from US charitable organisation ‘The Foundation for Global Sports Development’ to support both the Olympic Celebration Tour and the Sports Media Trainee Programme.

World Curling Federation announces Board election nominations

The World Curling Federation (WCF) has announced all of the candidates nominated for the forthcoming Board elections at the WCF Annual General Assembly being held at the World Curling Congress in Reno, USA in September. Current President, Kate Caithness OBE, from Scotland, is the only candidate nominated for the next four year term as President and will therefore be unopposed in the election.
