Taarnby Denmark to host World Senior Championships 2012

The World Curling Federation has announced that the World Senior Curling Championships 2012 will take place at Tårnby Curling Club in Kastrup, on the outskirts of Copenhagen, in Denmark. The event will run from 14-21 April at the seven sheet curling facility which was the venue for the 2006 World Seniors event.

Titlis Glacier Mountain World Women's Curling Championship 2013

For twelve women’s teams from the Americas, European and Pacific-Asia Zones. The host Association qualifies automatically. The other teams qualify through regional championships / challenges.

World Senior Curling Championships 2012

The following teams are competing in this year's event: WOMEN (two groups): Group A: Canada; Denmark; Finland; Ireland; Russia; Scotland and United States. Group B: Czech Republic; Italy; Japan; New Zealand; Slovakia; Sweden and Switzerland. MEN (three groups): Group A: Canada; Hungary; Italy; Japan; Netherlands; New Zealand and Scotland.

Erzurum Turkey to host World Mixed Doubles Championship 2012

The World Curling Federation and the Turkish Ice Skating Federation (Turkish Curling Association) have announced that the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship 2012 will be staged in Erzurum, Turkey. The event will take place from 23-29 April at the 1000 seat Milli Piyango Curling Hall which was the purpose-built venue for the curling competition at the Winter Universiade in January 2011.

World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship 2012

Open Entry: one team may enter from each Member Association. One male and one female player on each team. The 2012 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship will be fifth event of its kind. Inaugurated in Vierumaki, Finland in 2008, the second world championship was held in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy in 2009.

WCF extends partnership with Infront for four years

The World Curling Federation (WCF) and Infront Sports & Media have extended their media and marketing partnership for four years taking the contract period up to 2014. The new agreement follows the initial period of three years which has led to strong achievements for the federation and the sport of curling.

Teams announced for 2012 World Financial Group Continental Cup

The teams have been confirmed for the 2012 World Financial Group Continental Cup, presented by Monsanto. The eighth edition of this unique international curling competition takes place from 12 to 15 January 2012 at the Langley Events Centre in Langley, British Columbia, Canada.

World Wheelchair Curling Qualification 2011 Entry Deadline

REMINDER - the closing date for entries for the World Wheelchair Curling Qualification 2011 (WWhCQ) is 15 AUGUST 2011. The event will be held in Lohja, Finland between 5 and 12 November 2011. It is open to mixed gender wheelchair curling teams representing WCF Member Associations that have not already qualified for the next World Wheelchair Curling Championship.

The 13th Annual World Curling Federation Junior Curling Camp saw over a hundred junior curlers from around the world - Europe, N America, Australia & New Zealand - traveling to Füssen, Germany to take part this year.

PyeongChang elected host city of 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has elected PyeongChang (Republic of Korea) as the host city of the XXIII Olympic Winter Games in 2018 during its 123rd Session in Durban, South Africa. PyeongChang won in the first round of voting with 63 votes, against Munich (25 votes) and Annecy (7 votes).

The Ford Motor Company of Canada has renewed its long-term commitment to the sport of curling by extending its title sponsorship of the World Curling Championships staged in Canada through to 2013, with an option for 2014.

Sweden and Canada continue to top WCF World Rankings

Following the conclusion of the 2010-2011 season, Sweden maintains its position at the top of the World Curling Federation’s women’s rankings and Canada continues to lead the men’s.

World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship 2011 Final

Switzerland won gold at the 2011 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship in St Paul, USA on Saturday beating Russia a resounding 11-2 in the final. It is the third Mixed Doubles world championship title for Switzerland in the four year history of the event.
