ECC 2010 Day 2 Update

Sweden stand alone unbeaten at the top of the women's A Group standings at the Le Gruyère European Curling Championships after four sessions of round-robin play. After three sessions, the Danish and Germans share an unblemished record at the top of the men's A Group rankings.

ECC 2010 Day 1 Update

The opening day of the Le Gruyère European Curling Championships 2010 in Champéry, Switzerland opened with four draws in the A Group - two games each for the men and women. Defending men's champion Niklas Edin and his team from Sweden opened their campaign well, with two wins, following up their opening 5-3 victory over the Netherlands with a tight 7-6 win over Russia.

The 2010 Le Gruyère European Curling Championships for both men’s and women’s teams gets underway on Saturday 4th of December in Champéry, Switzerland. It is the 36th edition of the event since it began in Megève, France in 1975.

Chinese men & Korean women win Pacific Championships 2010

China has won gold at this year’s Pacific Men’s Curling Championship, beating Korea 9-3 and completing the event which was held in Uiseong, Korea on an unbeaten record. In the women’s event, the Korean women’s team won the gold medal game 10-7 beating Vancouver Olympic bronze medallists Bingyu Wang and her team from China.

Pacific Championships 2010 begin Tuesday in Korea

The 2010 Pacific Curling Championships get underway in Uiseong, Korea on Tuesday 16 November. 11 teams (6 men’s teams and 5 women’s teams) from the Pacific region will take part in the event with the finals taking place a week later on Tuesday 23 November. China and Russia qualify for Wheelchair Worlds 2011

China and Russia have won the two qualification spots for the World Wheelchair Curling Championship 2011. On the final day of play at the World Wheelchair Curling Qualification event at the Kisakallio Sports Institute in Lohja, Finland, China beat Italy 10-4 to win the first spot. Russia, after beating Japan 9-6, went on the beat Italy 6-4, for the second berth.

China, Italy, Russia & Japan make Wheelchair Qualifying event Playoffs

The final day of round robin play at the World Wheelchair Curling Qualification event at the Kisakallio Sports Institute in Lohja, Finland, saw the teams from China, Italy, Russia and Japan making it through to the final stage playoffs on Friday. On top of the standings with 7 wins and 1 loss each are China and Italy. They will meet in the 1v2 playoff game on Friday morning.

World Wheelchair Curling Qualification event begins Sunday 7th

The organizing committee of the World Wheelchair Curling Qualification (WWhCQ) 2010 is busy putting the final touches on the event venue to ensure optimal playing conditions for the wheelchair curlers, when they enter the ice on the 7th of November at the Kisakallio Sports Institute in Lohja, Finland. The WWhCQ is the first landmark on the journey towards the 2014 Paralympic Winter Games.
