The World Curling Federation (WCF) is deeply saddened to hear of the death of former Director of Finance, Denis Fox, of Fairbanks, USA, who died at the age of 69 earlier this month.
Denis was involved in curling for many years, dedicating a large part of his life to our sport both on and off the ice. His involvement in administrative duties saw him take on the role of United States Curling Association President from 1994-95. Later in his life he was elected to the Management Committee of the WCF where he held the position of Director of Finance between 2000 and 2004.
“The curling family has lost a great friend. His dedication and commitment to our sport throughout his life, both on and off the ice, earned him respect and admiration across the world,” said WCF President Kate Caithness. She added: "Denis played a key role in developing the WCF during his time as Director of Finance and will be fondly remembered by all who met him. He will be sadly missed and we would like to offer our sympathy to his family and friends at this difficult time.”
