Schedule released for Le Gruyère AOP European Curling Championships 2018

The schedule for Le Gruyère AOP European Curling Championships 2018 has been released. The event is set to take place in the Tondiraba Ice Hall in Tallinn, Estonia from 17 to 24 November.

On the opening Saturday (17 November), fans will be treated right away to a match-up featuring two of the best men’s teams in the world. Reigning World and European champions, Sweden, will face 2017 European bronze medallists Switzerland.

The reigning European women’s champions, Scotland, will open their quest for repeat gold against Denmark in the second session of the day.

Sweden, the women’s Olympic champions, World and European silver medallists will face Czech Republic in their first game of the championship in the same session.

Also, in this session are Italy, who won the bronze medal at last year’s championship, against Switzerland. Finally, a repeat of last year’s women’s final is set to take place on Sunday morning at 09.00 (Eastern European Time, +3 Universal Coordinated Time) when Sweden meet Scotland.

Both gold medal games are scheduled for Saturday 24 November with the women competing at 10.00 and the men at 15.00.

The host nation, Estonia’s, women’s and men’s teams will be competing in the B-Division this year, searching for one of two places in the A-Division for 2019.

World Curling TV will be the host broadcaster for the Le Gruyère AOP European Curling Championships 2018 and will produce extensive coverage for rights-holders and its YouTube channel – in territories there is no broadcast partner. More information will be released in due course.
