Apply now for Füssen camps and courses

July, perhaps doesn’t strike you as a prime curling month, but over the past two decades it has been the month where aspiring ice-technicians, umpires, coaches and junior curlers come together, in Füssen, Gemany, to hone their skills at one of the World Curling Federation’s flagship events.

July 2017, will be no different with the WCF Competitions and Development team running its popular series of courses and the DCV Hummelt Junior Curling Camp for the 19th time.

The Füssen courses begin with the Ice Technician Course which runs between 30 June and 4 July. The series continues with the Umpire Basic Course between 5 and 6 July and concludes with the Advanced Instruction and Introduction to Coaching course which runs from 7 to 8 July.

Early applications are encouraged because space is limited and all three courses are expected to be fully-booked before the registration deadlines.

The WCF / DCV Hummelt Junior Curling Camp then begins on 9 July and runs until 15 July and focuses on team development.

The camp is open to junior curlers aged between 13 and 20. Participants will be placed into one of six groups consisting of twenty curlers, one instructor and two assistants.

Topics covered in the junior camp include - delivery analysis and development, team communication, strategy, training drills and practice plans, mental preparation and season planning, and the role of team coaches.

There are limited spaces available for the camp so early applications are encouraged. Entries close once the camp’s maximum 120 participants has been reached. Applications can be made at http://www.wcf.co/campsandcourses

The World Curling Federation facilitates the growth and development of curling worldwide.
