Korea women qualified for the World Junior Curling Championships for the first time in their history as they defeated China 11-6 to win the gold medal at the Pacific-Asia Junior Curling Championships 2014 taking place in Harbin, China.
In the men's event, hosts China defeated Korea to take the gold medals and qualify for the World Junior Curling Championships 2014 as well, which will take place in Flims, Switzerland between February 26 and March 5.
In the women's event, the winning Korean team comprised of Kyeong-Ae Kim (skip), Seon-Yeong Kim (third), Ji-Hyeon Kim (second), Young-Eun Koo (lead) and they were supported by Eun-Jin Oh (alternate) and Kyung-Seog Kim (coach).
The other medals winners were China (silver) and Japan (bronze).
In the men's event, the Chinese men's team included Jinbo Wang (skip), Zhilin Shao (third), Tianyu Zhang (second), Shuming Liang (lead) and they were supported by Zhi Ling (alternate) and Zhipeng Zhang (coach).
The other medal winners were Korea (silver), New Zealand (bronze).
