UPDATE: The World Curling Federation is delighted to announce the appointment of Scott Arnold from London, Ontario, Canada and Allen Coliban from Brasov, Romania as Competition and Development Officers (CDOs). Scott and Allen will join the WCF on a part-time basis.
Their recruitment follows the recent announcement of the appointment of Thelma Black and Darrell Ell.
Thelma Black joins the Federation from the High School of Dundee, Scotland, as Finance Controller and replaces Liz Burns who has retired, following 16 years of service to the Federation.
Darrell Ell from Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada has also been appointed as a Competition and Development Officer.
Darrell, Scott and Allen will work under the direction of the WCF Director of Competitions and will be charged with contributing to the continued growth and development of curling around the world.
As well as supporting Member Association development and running camps and courses, the CDOs will assist in the delivery of the Championship programme in curling run by the WCF and its partners.
President Kate Caithness commented: “The WCF is excited to bring on board these new members of staff. We are really positive about the contribution they will make to the continued development of the Federation. The addition of Darrell, Scott and Allen will greatly increase the opportunities for the WCF to visit and work closely with our Member Associations as they develop and expand their programmes."
"In Thelma, we have recruited a highly experienced finance professional who will help us ensure that we keep control of our finances and make best use of the funds available to us to develop the sport. The WCF was impressed by both the quality and quantity of applicants for all of the vacancies. Being in a position to select successful candidates from such a deep pool of talent is a great asset for our sport.”
