Captains and coaches for Team World and Team North America have determined their picks for the opening three days of action in the 2013 World Financial Group Continental Cup.

Italy and Denmark secure World Junior Championships berths

The Italian junior men and Danish junior women have won the finals of the European Junior Curling Challenge 2013 and secured the last European spots to be able to compete at this year’s World Junior Curling Championships in Sochi, Russia. The Italians, skipped by Andrea Pilzer, won the junior men’s final against Denmark led by Tobias Thune 7-6.

World Financial Group Continental Cup begins Thursday

The World Financial Group Continental Cup gets underway on Thursday in Penticton, British Columbia, Canada at the South Okanagan Events Centre. The ninth edition of this unique international curling competition takes place between January 10-13 and is the third time the event has been staged in British Columbia, following Chilliwack in 2006 and Langley for the 2012 edition.

Junior curlers target World Championships

January 2013 sees junior curlers from the World Curling Federation’s European and Pacific-Asia regions vying for the last spots at the World Junior Curling Championships 2013.
