Spain teams win European Curling Championships C-Division 2017

Spain’s women’s and men’s teams have won the European Curling Championships C-Division 2017, in Andorra’s Palau de Gel d’Andorra. In winning the gold medals, they have also qualified for the Le Gruyère AOP European Curling Championships B-Division 2017, which will be held in St Gallen, Switzerland, between 17 and 25 November.

Teams qualify for European C-Division play-offs

Poland, Spain, Slovakia and Ireland women and Spain, Ireland, France and Belarus men have qualified for the European Curling Championships C-Division 2017 play-offs at the conclusion of the round-robin on Friday (12 May), in Andorra. These teams still have a chance to qualify for the B-Division of the Le Gruyère AOP European Curling Championships 2017 in November.

Olympic mixed doubles places now known for PyeongChang 2018

Canada, China, Finland, Norway, Russia, Switzerland, and USA have qualified their National Olympic Committees (NOCs) for the 2018 PyeongChang Olympic Winter Games mixed doubles curling event. World Mixed Doubles and Seniors Curling Championships 2018 to return to Sweden

The 2018 editions of the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship (WMDCC) and the World Senior Curling Championships (WSCC) will be held in Oestersund Sweden, between 21-28 April 2018. The mixed doubles and seniors will both be held in the Östersund Arena. The Östersund Arena was opened in December 2013. It hosts two large halls usually used for ice-hockey and figure skating.

First ever full curling team inducted into World Curling Hall of Fame

The World Curling Federation (WCF) will induct its first full curling team to the World Curling Hall of Fame on Saturday (29 April). The recipients of this honour will be 1959, 1960 and 1962 Scotch Cup winners, Team Richardson of Regina, Canada.

What is Mixed Doubles curling? Mixed doubles is a dynamic form of curling, where it is all about stone positioning, a lot of play to the four foot circle and a lot about angles. It is a faster version of curling that only requires two players on each team. Mixed Doubles Curling will make its debut on the Olympic Winter Programme at the games in Pyeongchang, South Korea 2018.
