Wheelchair curling event expanded to 12 teams for PyeongChang 2018

The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) confirmed that the wheelchair curling event at the PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games will be expanded from 10 to 12 teams. The IPC confirmed this expansion following their Governing Board meeting held in Tokyo, Japan on Sunday 7 June 2015.

Almaty, Kazakhstan to host Pacific-Asia Curling Championships 2015

The World Curling Federation (WCF) has announced today that Kazakhstan will host their first ever international curling event as they stage the Pacific-Asia Curling Championships 2015. The Baluan Sholak Sports Palace in Almaty has been selected as the venue for next season’s Pacific-Asia Championships which will take place between 7 and 14 November.

Turku, Finland to trial WCF Portable Curling Facility initiative

The Finnish Curling Association has been selected to trial the World Curling Federation’s (WCF) first Portable Curling Facility. The initiative, launched at the World Curling Congress in September 2014, will see the WCF provide CopperHill Curling Club in Turku with a two sheet Portable Curling Facility (PCF), created within an insulated tent.

Sweden beat Norway to win gold

Sweden beat Norway 9-5 on Easter Sunday afternoon to win the gold medals and the world title at the Ford World Men's Curling Championship 2015, staged in the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax, Canada.
