Venue announced for the World Women’s Curling Championship 2015

The World Curling Federation (WCF) and Japan Curling Association announced today that the Tsukisamu Gymnasium in Sapporo, Japan will host the World Women’s Curling Championship in 2015. The championship will take place between 14-22 March 2015 on the northern island of Hokkaido in Japan, where Sapporo is situated.

Team World announced for 2014 WFG Continental Cup

It will be a star-studded Team World entry that takes to the ice at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas for the 2014 World Financial Group Continental Cup, it was announced on Tuesday.

European Mixed Curling Championship 2013 begins Saturday

25 Mixed gender teams from around Europe will compete in the European Mixed Curling Championship 2013, which gets underway on Saturday 14 September in Edinburgh, Scotland. The championship will be held at Murrayfield Curling Rink and will run until Saturday 21 September when the Semi-finals will take place at 10:00 and gold and bronze medal games at 15:00.

First Meeting of WCF Athlete Commission

The six members of the World Curling Federation’s newly-formed Athlete Commission met for the first time during the 2nd Annual World Curling Congress in Copenhagen, Denmark this weekend. The commission is an integral part of an on-going reform of the Federation’s governance structure and will provide a voice for athletes and make recommendations to the WCF board.

Curling gold medals for Japan, Australia at Winter Games NZ

Japan and Australia took home the gold medals from the Audi Quattro Winter Games NZ curling tournament on Saturday. Japan won the Men’s gold medal match 10-3 against New Zealand, who took silver. Korea picked up the bronze medal as the losing semi-finalist.

Death of former WCF Director of Finance, Denis Fox

Honour for WCF President Kate Caithness

The World Curling Federation’s (WCF) Olympic Celebration Tour has received a substantial funding boost from a US charitable foundation. The Foundation for Global Sports Development has donated $50,000 US dollars to help support the programme.
