Olympic gold medallist joins World Curling staff team

The World Curling Federation has appointed Olympic Winter Games Salt Lake City 2002 Olympic gold medallist, Rhona Howie (nee. Martin), from Scotland, to its staff team.

Howie takes up the role of Equipment and Logistics Officer based at Greenacres, near Glasgow, where the majority of World Curling competition equipment is kept. Howie will also be the first point of contact for the Deferred Payment Scheme, for Member Associations purchasing stones and scrapers. Howie takes up these logistical duties from Richard Harding.

Richard Harding, has been appointed as Head of Broadcast. In this role, Harding, will focus on developing and delivering a broadcast strategy for the World Curling Federation. He will coordinate World Curling TV’s numerous projects, including the Curling World Cup, and work with broadcast partners to ensure maximum coverage for World Curling Federation events. He will also liaise with the Olympic Broadcast Service (OBS) to ensure the highest standard of coverage from the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

Liz Munro, has also been appointed Office Manager. Munro will oversee the administration of all World Curling Federation events and manage the day-to-day running of the World Curling Federation Headquarters in Perth, Scotland.
