WCF appoints new Communications and Media Relations Manager

The World Curling Federation (WCF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Cameron MacAllister as its new Communications and Media Relations Manager.

Cameron arrives from Scottish Rugby, where he spent five years in its Communications and Public Affairs department.

As Media Manager for the Scottish governing body for rugby, he was responsible for raising the profile of its club and schools game and the Scotland 7s team on the international HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series and during the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

During Glasgow 2014, Cameron was also a Press Attaché and News Provider for Team Scotland, where he undertook athlete media management and wrote content for Athletics, Badminton, Boxing, Rugby Sevens, Squash, Table Tennis and Wrestling.

In his new role, Cameron will be charged with sharing the growth of curling and the work of the WCF through a robust communications strategy that covers the organisation’s portfolio of international events and expanding development programme.

WCF President Kate Caithness said: “On behalf of the organisation I am delighted to welcome Cameron onboard.

“With his skills in communications and media relations and experience of international sporting events he is ideally placed for the role."

Cameron said: “I am delighted to be joining the World Curling Federation at an exciting time of growth, particularly following the Winter Olympics in Sochi, where Curling was evidently one of the standout events.

“I look forward to helping build the profile of this international Olympic and Paralympic sport as it heads towards the next Winter Olympics in PyeongChang in 2018.”

Cameron begins his work with the WCF today, 17th of August 2015.
