Queens Place Emera Centre

Queens Place Emera Centre located in Liverpool, Nova Scotia, acts as the hub of recreational, social and cultural activity in the Region of Queens Municipality.

Opened in December 2011, this state-of-the-art facility is approximately 1.5 hours from markets such as Halifax, the Annapolis Valley and Yarmouth – Nova Scotia’s entry point from the USA via a seasonal ferry service. Queens Place Emera Centre geographically draws event attendance from the entire southern half of Nova Scotia and beyond!

Queens Place is truly multi-purpose. The facility has a fitness centre & studio, an indoor 2-lane track for walking or jogging, and an arena capable of playing host to a diverse choice of on-ice activities, concerts, trade shows, corporate gatherings and more. Meeting spaces are also available to rent. The welcoming lobby space is home for ‘The Snug’, the facility concession operator and is also the location of the facility information and ticketing desk.

Surrounding the Queens Crossing property there is a groomed trail used in all seasons, toboggan hill, BMX Bike Park and a World Class Skatepark. In addition a World Junior Curling Championship host hotel property the Best Western Plus Liverpool is located directly across from the facility.

A centre piece of the facility is of course the arena. The arena ice surface is NHL (professional hockey) regulation size, and permanent seating is available for 1,050 spectators. The arena surface itself can be adapted! The perfect example is the transition from hockey arena to curling rink as Queens Place played a leading role as a host facility for the 2014 Canadian National Junior Curling Championships in partnership with the Liverpool Curling Club.
The facility is proud to play host to many local teams and clubs for figure skating, ice hockey, broomball and other sports and has a stellar hosting resume of National and Provincial events hosted by the hard working volunteers of its user base.

There’s more than ice at Queens Place Emera Centre. The facility can be transformed into a 2,000+ seat venue, perfect for music concerts, industry trade shows, festivals and conventions.
The facility has been proud to host many big name music acts and performers such as: The Washboard Union, Barenaked Ladies, Tom Cochrane, The Beach Boys, Blue Rodeo, Charley Pride and Travis Tritt. Our rich association with music in the community extends to the hosting the annual Hank Snow Country Tribute, Canada Day Celebrations at Queens Place and as the facility opened in 2011 Music Week Nova Scotia Gala Awards Show. Performers rave about the great acoustics which only enrich the show experience at this premiere facility.

Queens Place Emera Centre is located within minutes of major food outlets and the Main Street business district of Liverpool. Come and enjoy our history, experiences and community as we make history we Welcome the World to Liverpool, February 2019.
