Sweden and Russia progress to Gold Medal game

The World Mixed Curling Championship 2016 semi-finals saw Russia face Korea and Scotland face Sweden.

In the first game, Sweden would open the scoring with a single point steal in the first end and then steal further single points in the second and third ends. Scotland would pick up their first point in the third end.

Sweden would then go on to score 2 points in the fifth end and a further 3 points in the seventh end for the 8-2 win and a place in the Gold Medal game. Scotland move onto the Bronze Medal game.

In the other semi-final Russia defeated Korea by a score of 5-2. Russia opened the scoring with 2 points in the first end. They would go on to score 2 points in the fourth end and bring the game to a close when they scored a single point in the seventh end.

Russia now advance to the Gold Medal game to face Sweden while Korea will play Scotland in the Bronze Medal game. Both games take place at 2pm this afternoon.
