Sweden’s Anna Hasselborg broke Switzerland’s winning run by 8-5 in the morning and dominated China in the evening winning 5-1. But the Swiss remain in third position in the rankings after beating Russia 7-6 in a game that went into an extra end in the night draw.
After a poor start to the championship, the United States were on a winning streak on Monday, first beating France 8-5 and pulling through to beat Scotland 7-6 in evening. Scotland, now at the bottom of the rankings on five losses after having lost 1-4 to Germany earlier, had put in alternate Anna Sloan in an attempt to turn their fortunes around.
It was not a good day for Anna Kubeskova’s Czech team either first they lost 7-6 to China and at night Marie Coulot’s French team beat them 8-3.
