The international finance company extends its long-term curling commitment
As exclusive media and marketing partner of the World Curling Federation (WCF), Infront Sports & Media, a Wanda Sports company, has signed a sponsorship agreement with LGT as main sponsor of the World Women’s Curling Championship 2017 in Beijing, China.
In addition, the international private banking and asset management group is expanding its involvement to include the Le Gruyère AOP European Curling Championships for the next two years consisting of the 2016 event in Braehead, Scotland – which begins this week (19-26 November) – and the 2017 event in St. Gallen, Switzerland (17-25 November).
The package of rights secured by LGT provides the brand with key exposure at the events – featuring on advertising boards, as well as under ice advertising and the logo of the finance company will be integrated on player jerseys, scoreboards and interview backdrops. Additionally, LGT is included on all communications material and receives a hospitality contingent that offers a behind-the-scenes tour and invitations to official events such as the opening and closing ceremonies.
Heinrich Henckel, CEO of LGT Bank Switzerland: “Curling is a very popular and widespread sport in Switzerland. For its success determination, precision and concentration are essential. These values are important to us because they are also indicative of long-term success in private banking. We are very pleased to be a partner of the European and World Curling Championships in the coming years and to visit these highly professional and exciting events with our customers and guests."
Kate Caithness, President of the World Curling Federation, said: “We are delighted that LGT is committed to our flagship championships. As the popularity of curling continues to grow, we are confident that the brand will see even greater benefits to investing in our sport. Thank you to Infront for its ongoing drive to enhance the strength of our events.”
Bruno Marty, Executive Director Winter Sports at Infront, said: “The World Women’s Curling Championship is the first big winter sports event to be held in Beijing since the 2022 Winter Olympic Games were awarded.
