Youth Olympic Games qualification update

Following the conclusion of the World Junior Curling Championships 2015, the World Curling Federation (WCF) has released the final qualification points for Member Associations for the Youth Olympic Winter Games (WYOG) in 2016.

WYOG 2016 will be held in Lillehammer, Norway from 12-21 February. This competition will be open to curlers born between 1 January 1998 and 31 December 2001. In Lillehammer, two curling competitions will take place.

The first competition is for national mixed junior teams of four athletes. Following that, another competition will begin, comprising of inter-national mixed doubles teams (each team has one male and one female player, of two different nationalities).

Sixteen teams in total have qualified for the WYOG 2016 curling competitions based on qualification points gained during the 2013/14 and 2014/15 curling seasons at the European Junior Curling Challenge, Pacific-Asia Junior Curling Championships and the World Junior Curling Championships.
